Japan eind jaren twintig. Een jonge journalist ontdekt een afgelegen eiland dat weerstand biedt aan de modernisering - met gewelddadige gevolgen. Het fantastische camerawerk creëert een verleidende sfeer van verval en gevaar.

Set in Japan in the late 1920's. A young journalist explores a remote island where "modernisation" is being resisted - with violent consequences. The amazing camera work creates an enticing atmosphere of danger and decay.
