In deze duistere sci-fi/gore film, nemen onbekende parasieten – necroborgs – met een onverzadigbare dorst naar bloed, de lichamen van mensen in om ze te transformeren in vechtmachines. Waar komen ze vandaan en met wat voor doel? Yoji is een eenzame jongen die in een fabriek werkt en tijdens zijn lunchpauze staart hij naar Sachiko die in een fabriek aan de andere kant van de rivier werkt. Ze krijgen een relatie en belanden in een hevige strijd waarin menselijke emoties heel machtig kunnen zijn. Zijn zij in staat het op te nemen tegen de allesvernietigende kracht van de necroborgs?

Somewhere embedded in this dark sci-fi/gore film, is the story of two people who are bound together by their newfound romance and passion to survive. 'Meatball Machine' takes us through a world invaded by parasites called Necroborgs, whose thirst for human blood gives them the ability to take over a human being and turn them into perfect fighting machines. The two lonely factory workers, Yoji and Sachiko, must fight through a fierce battle against the Necroborgs as well as their emotions if they want to stay alive.

'Meatball Machine' is YAMAMOTO Junichi's first endeavor in directing. His fellow director YAMAGUCHI Yudai was an assistant director of KITAMURA Ryuhei ('Alive', 'Versus') and has previously directed movies such as 'Battlefield Baseball' and 'Chromartie High: The Movie'.

Wanneer Nao een part-time baan krijgt bij een lokale supermarkt, had ze niet verwacht ooit in strijd te gaan met het bovennatuurlijke. In deze waanzinnige horror van debuterend regisseur HOSHINO Yoshihiro is de supermarkt binnen gevuld met wraakzuchtige geesten en buiten omgeven door een afschuwelijke stank. De eigenaar van de winkel lijkt te genieten van de verwondingen die hij oploopt door een afgevaardigde van een grotere supermarktketen, terwijl zijn vrouw lijdt aan plotselinge gekte. Om het nog erger te maken nemen geesten de zielen van de 'nacht'-collega's en klanten over. Nao moet zich redden uit deze opeenstapeling van demonische gebeurtenissen.

Signing up for a part-time job at a local convenience store usually doesn't involve battling the supernatural. In HOSHINO Yoshihiro's first horror film, young and cheerful Nao has to fight the vengeful spirits lurking inside the store's walls as well as the night-shift clerks and customers who have been taken over by ghosts. Meanwhile the store manager seems overjoyed by the injuries caused to a sales representative of a major franchise, while his wife starts suffering from a sudden madness. Will Nao be able to save herself from this culmination of weird demonic events and clock back out unharmed?
