CAMERA JAPAN in cooperation with SieboldHuis Leiden

Dit jaar mag CAMERA JAPAN ook het SieboldHuis verwelkomen als nieuwe festival locatie en partner. In samenwerking met het eerste officiële Japan centrum wordt er aldaar een surprise film vertoond, een lezing gegeven over Japanse tatoeages en komt de complete serie kunst uit de tentoonstelling 'Relay' te hangen in het SieboldHuis.

This year, CAMERA JAPAN is proud to welcome the SieboldHuis as a new festival location and partner. In cooperation with the first official Japan Centre there will be a surprise film-screening in Leiden, a lecture about Japanese tattoos, and the complete art exhibition from 'Relay' is going to be shown at the SieboldHuis.

About the SieboldHuis

Om uiting te geven aan de bijzondere en lange relatie tussen Japan en Nederland hebben een aantal instellingen zich verenigd om het SieboldHuis opnieuw open te stellen voor publiek. Dit was de plek waar Philipp von Siebold al in 1837 zijn collectie Japanse objecten openstelde voor een geïnteresseerd publiek. En nu, na meer dan 150 jaar, wordt in juist dit pand het eerste officiële Japan centrum gevestigd.

To express the great and long relation between Japan and the Netherlands, a couple of institutions joined forces to open the SieboldHuis again to the public. The SieboldHuis was the place where Philipp von Siebold in 1837 started to exhibit his collection of Japanese objects for an interested audience. And now, after more than 150 years, the first official Japanese Centre is being established in this building.
