De Japanse schrijver MURAKAMI Haruki is zowel in eigen land als daarbuiten een beroemde auteur. Hoe komt het dat hij in Japan zoveel gelezen wordt door alle lagen van de bevolking, maar door de (Japanse) literaire wereld genegeerd wordt? KUSAMA Yayoi begon haar carrière in Manhattan’s turbulente kunstscene van begin jaren ’60 en is momenteel in zowel binnen- als buitenland één van Japan’s meest gelauwerde kunstenaars. De meesten kennen haar van haar psychedelische schilderijen en installaties met stippen uit het begin van haar loopbaan, maar haar oeuvre gaat veel verder dan dat. While still being a university student MATSUMOTO Takako produced her first independent movie Chako’s Apa-toru Story that was accepted at the Sixth Pia Film Festival and ever since, she mainly produced documentaries.
