KISHINO Yuichi, een sound design professor aan de Universiteit van Tokyo, transformeert op het podium naar zijn alter ego LA VEUVE MOUSTACHUE, een Franse weduwe, en geeft zijn eigen interpretatie van Franse chansons. Zijn optreden brengt de lange nachten in de nachtclubs in Parijs tot leven, gezien door een Japanse bril met zang en dans en doorweekt met melancholie. Zeer vermakelijk cabaret gebracht tegen een theatrale achtergrond van klassieke filmfragmenten.
KISHINO Yuichi, a professor for sound design at Tokyo University, who under his alter ego LA VEUVE MOUSTACHUE transforms into a French widow that interprets French chansons with his/her very own Japanese twist. Highly entertaining cabaret performed against a theatrical backdrop of classical movie fragments.

Denk aan een kruising tussen The Ramones en Shonen Knife, maar dan een stuk wilder gespeeld door stelletje dronken punkettes, die je in een mum van tijd aan het dansen krijgen terwijl je met je vuist omhoog om meer schreeuwt!
Lock up your sons: Mikabomb are back. Formed in London in 1999 by super-psycho razor-happy girl HANDA Mika, the band became infamous for their hard-edge garage hooks, singalong punk choruses and chaotic live shows, not to mention their spangly fashion sense that left boys and girls alike reeling with yellow fever. It probably helped that they sounded like the unruly lovechild of The Ramones and Shonen Knife, only drunker. Cursed with some shitty luck caused them to play their final show in 2006. But final isn’t always final, and now, in their first ever five-girl incarnation, Mikabomb have re-formed for an exclusive show at CAMERA JAPAN. So get down on your knees and prepare to rock out!

Geboren in 1985 in Tokyo, Sputniko! is een equatie van een Engelse moeder en Japanse vader die beide aan een universiteit wiskunde doceren. Ze maakt sinds 2007 muziek, films en elektronische apparaten op het vlak van technologie, sekse en popcultuur. Op haar DVD album ’Parakonpe’ combineert ze audio en video, en bekritiseerd op een speelse manier de post-moderne technologische cultuur. Experimentele, maar toch vrolijk en catchy cyber J-pop op de kruising van jaren 80 electropop en het 21ste eeuw computertijdperk!
Born in 1985 in Tokyo, Sputniko! is an equation of an English mother and a Japanese father who are both university mathematics professors. Since 2007 she has produced music, films and electronic devices exploring the themes of technology, gender and pop culture. On her DVD album ‘Parakonpe’ she combines audio and video, and playfully critiques post-modern technology culture. Experimental, yet up-beat and catchy cyber J-pop on the crossroads of 80s electropop and the 21st century computer age!

aus is het solo project van FUKUZONO Yasuhiko, die al sinds zijn tienerjaren muziek componeert, waaronder voor een groot aantal korte films, ook op zijn eigen label Flau albums uitbrengt van onder andere El Fog en Kumisolo. Hoewel hij nog jong is, heeft hij toch al een aanzienlijk oeuvre opgebouwd die mochten rekenen op vele lovende kritieken. Vanwege zijn mengeling van heldere melancholieke melodieën en ragfijne percussie wordt hij wel vergeleken met PIANA en MÚM.
aus is the solo project of FUKUZONO Yasuhiko who has been composing music since his teens, including for many short films. Though still very young, he already has quite an impressive body of work. His blend of beautiful and bright melancholic melodies with intricate percussive beats are sometimes compared with those of PIANA and MÚM.

Lullatone omschrijft hun muziek als ‘Pyjama Pop’, dromerige J-pop met invloeden uit de Bossanova, Franse chansons en kinderliedjes, gespeeld door een duo dat wel eeuwig jong lijkt. Het duo, bestaande uit Shawn James SEYMOUR en TOMIDA Yoshimi, heeft al zes albums op haar naam geschreven en zal tijdens CAMERA JAPAN voor de eerste keer in Nederlands optreden. Vrolijke, verraderlijke simpele melodieën die je het best kan beluisteren terwijl je in je pyjama ligt te loungen op kussens en zitzakken.
Lullatone describe their music as “Pajama Pop”, dreamy J-pop which takes its influences from Bossa Nova, French chansons, and children’s songs, played by a talented duo who have found the eternal fountain of youth. Cheerful deceivingly simple melodies best enjoyed wearing your pajamas while lounging on pillows and cushions.
