CAMERA JAPAN co-presents FISH STORY at CinemAsia Filmfestival

We are happy to announce our new collaboration with CinemAsia Film Festival, whose 4th edition takes place at Ketelhuis in Amsterdam from May 20th to 30th. As our first joint effort, we will be co-presenting the bizzare and exciting Sci-fi/mystery FISH STORY on Pentecost (Pinksteren) Monday, May 24th at 14:00.

FISH STORY is a fun and crazy ride through time with its distinctive musical and fashion styles. In 1975, the year before the Sex Pistols released their first album, a Japanese punk band called Gekirin recorded their single, 'Fish Story.' Because they cannot break through the mainstream of the 70’s they break up, never to record again. 37 years later, in 2012, however their song will save the world. The original story was written by ISAKA Koutaro and the film directed by NAKAMURA Yoshihiro. This author/director pair is considered to be the "dream team" in Japanese cinema these days. At past editions of CAMERA JAPAN, we had a Dutch premiere of their earlier collaboration "The Foreign Duck, The Native Duck and God in a Coinlocker" (CJ 2008) and last year we also screened NAKAMURA's "The Two In Tracksuits" (CJ 2009) and we are proud to also introduce another new film by this golden pair in kind cooperation with our friends from CinemAsia.

One of the CAMERA JAPAN organizers Yasuo KISHIBE will introduce the film and will be also cooking Udon noodles at the cafe area from May 22nd to 24th. There will be also Indonesian and Korean treats for offering in these three days. So make sure to bring your appetite to Ketelhuis!
